The Sustainability Committee is in need of seeds and seedlings for a gardening exchange to take place at its Earth Day celebration on Wednesday, Apr. 20.
Seeds and seedlings must be non-invasive species, preferably natives, and seeds must be no more than one-year old. Donations can be brought in on the day of the event or in advance. Contact Maxine Ortiz at extension 7787 or m.ortiz@hvcc.edu with questions.
Earth Day activities, taking place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., include a guided bird and wildflower walk, gardening lectures, a demonstration of solar oven cooking, tours of the college’s co-generation plant, eco-friendly vendors, movie screenings and musical entertainment.
